The Way It All Started
One
weekend back in the '70's, Chef David Smith and Tony Roma decided
to throw some baby backs on the grill. It was going to be a temporary
thing, using Tony Roma's own secret barbeque recipe. On Monday, they
would go back to grilling their great burgers and steaks, and it
would be business as usual at that little place called Tony Roma's
restaurant in North Miami, Florida. One taste, and customers immediately
convinced them to change their plans. Today, there are over 225 locations
on five continents. From Dallas to San Francisco, Orlando to Vancouver
and Tokyo to Madrid, Tony Roma's is creating an international incident
with its flame-grilled ribs, steaks, chicken and seafood. And yes,
both our beloved Tony Roma and Chef David are retired, but they keep
a close watch on the international sensation they created: Tony Roma's,
Famous for Ribs restaurants.
